Winter Wonderland

Last weekend Dave and i went on another little vacation with our friends Tina and Daryl :)
We took a long bus ride to Thredbo stopping at Canberra on the way.
we arrived at out apartments at the Thredbo Alpine Apartments around 4pm, unpacked our things and headed straight to the snow.
because we went in june, it wasnt as snowy as it would be if we went in the peak seasons. but it was still horribly cold and very fun :)
my little snowman =)
it was Daves and Daryls firs time to the snows and they went a little crazy with the snowball fights.
Especially Daryl who kept pelting us with rock hard snowballs because all the ones we threw at him didnt hurt him (because he was armored up from with his motorbike jacket) so he didnt think the snowballs he was throwing would hurt.
We had such a long day that day, that when we were all tired out from the snow fights, and food babies.. we were ready for bed around 7pm..
it was really funny because it just made us feel really old from the fact that we got so tired so easily!
We had a pretty early night after Daryl had cooked us all a lovely dinner :)
The next day was our snowboard lessons!!!
i didnt participate because i was broke.. lol. i wanted to save money for my birthday and the food and wine show that was coming up. so i thought i would skip out this year and try it next year :)
But im so proud of everyone!! they learnt how to snowboard! =D
The second night we decided to go out to eat. and saw this place that had a funny name we didnt know how to pronounce.
 House of Ullr..
it was pretty nice and cosy.
The food was great. Tina got herself a kid sized lasagna meal
Daryl got the beef cheeks, which was amazingly cooked. the meat just fell apart.. it was beautiful. but a little under-seasoned...
 Dave had the Rib-eye
and i had some vegetarian dish.. which just tasted like salsa with lentils.
Daves tiny carrot!!!!! SO TINY!!!! O_O
The second night we ate at Berntis Tapas bar
it had heaps of awesome brews and ciders.
but the tapas was a little disappointing. just the portion to price was really unbelievable
like the dish above was $12
and thr vege springrolls were like $9 or something???
the tapas was all ranged from $8-$20 and it was of such small quantity.. and the food wasn't the most amazingest things we've ever tasted.. it was quite average..
And Dave ordred us a main, Pork ribs for $31. which was pretty decent.
We then went for a walk and saw a Brazilian style BBQ place and got dessert and strong alcohol here.
I've never tried brazilian styled food. and i still havent :(
 SHOTS!! 50% alcohol..
 Sticky date pudding
Guava yogurt cheesecake topped with berries.. guess whos pretentious dessert belonged to.. *cough* lol
 and Churros!!
when we got home we heard fireworks outside our apartment.
and i swear that was the closest i've ever been to fireworks. but the camera doesn't do it justice.
On our last day here the weather was beautiful..
we went to the local bakery and saw a giant chess set!
My obsession of oversized things.. (and undersized things too =D)
And the view from our drive back :)

Sorry i had to rush this post. i've been delaying posting more entries cause i've been so busy, but that just means im back tracked with different events and things i want to write about.
