this was my first year with anything to do with mardi gras, because every year when we planned to go, nothing ever happened.. that and it normally lands on Tinas birthday!
But this year, instead of just watching it we were able to be in it~!
Anyways, we ended up going to the city early that day to get ready at the hotel. i was able to meet a lot of new amazing people.. they are so positive and fun!! i wish they were a part of my group all the time. i was able to hang out with Mitch, Steve and Juan again.. Gah! i miss them so much..
Once we were ready we headed to the parade area and took photos with everyone else in costumes, every one looked amazing... i need a better costume next year!!!
we took our spot in line and danced to the music playing on the flat beside us, it was like a pre-party..
The rain was pouring on us like crazy as well!! but it was still good, the only bad thing was the wind, cause it got very very cold wearing almost nothing..
we waited about 3 hours before we were able to walk, and that was not fun being in heels..
but by the time we started walking, the adrenalin rush kicked in and it was amazing again!
man, walking that long road was one of the most amazing feelings.. weird as well seeing as there were HUNDREDS of people staring!!! there were sooooo many people!!!
we all felt so famous!! =D
there was one point where they made us run.. (running in heels when your feet already hurt, not a good feeling)
but that was such an amazing experience. i cant wait to do it again next year :)
